Property Information

Absolute waterfront. No roads, no cars, no people! Just the garden to cross before you reach the beach and the water! A place so earthy and refreshing we are able to advertise invigoration for the soul and refreshment for the mind! Yes, the quintessential Kiwi bach getaway and the ‘just-the-right-amount-of-wilderness experience’!

You’ll be off the grid (that’s right, no electricity), back to basics (catch your dinner type stuff) in the best possible way. Leave behind the tele, the cell phones (if you can) and the stresses of the outside World and while away the days in a natural Marlborough Sounds paradise. There are just enough essential mod-cons to remind you that you aren’t actually camping: these include a wood heater fueled hot shower, gas oven and stove, gas refrigerator and freezer, AM radio and lighting by rechargeable LED lamps, candles and gas lanterns.

Enjoy fishing, beachcombing, bushwalking and mountain climbing! Or simply kick off the jandals, lay back on a banana lounger, enjoy the sun and your bottle of Marlborough chardonnay, cards or a board game, the National Radio programme or your book. Or head down to the beach for a swim, a snorkel or take the rod out and catch dinner!

Arapawa Island Bach (“Homebush”) is located just 30minutes by boat from Waikawa Bay or Picton. Zero minutes to Marlborough Sounds paradise! Boat access only (your boat or the water-taxi). A one ton mooring is provided (suitable for vessels up to 30ft) and a dinghy is available for your use.
